The Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District will accept applications for the position of Distribution-Collection Department Laborer until filled.

Applicant must be a high school graduate or possess GED with prior experience or interest in water and sewer piping systems. Basic knowledge of, or ability to learn and practice water and sewer utility piping procedures and maintenance, main taps, power equipment operation, willingness and physical ability to perform manual labor; ability to understand and transmit simple oral and written instructions; trench safety; ability to keep equipment, tools and vehicles in good working condition; good physical condition.

Possession of a valid motor vehicle license (operator’s) issued by the State of North Carolina; must maintain a telephone at place of residence; must obtain and wear, at own expense, an approved pair of steel-toed safety shoes.  Must pass physical exam, incl. drug & alcohol testing.
