Foreman (Distribution and Collection System)
The Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District is seeking a Distribution and Collection System Foreman. Employees in this position are responsible for leading a crewed 3 person truck, operation of rubber tire backhoe, traffic control and trench safety. Prompt and courteous public contact is required in notifying and in answering citizens' questions regarding interruption of water and/or sewer service. Tasks include connecting and disconnecting water service, responding promptly to digital media contact, investigating reported problems and repairing water line leaks. An employee in this position is also responsible for maintaining safety on the job, inspecting their vehicle daily and maintaining tools and supplies on the vehicle. This position is subject to on-call and call-back work, hazards of vicious animals and working continuously in various outside weather conditions. Additional job duties include other related tasks as assigned. Graduation from high school and ability to work with figures and data; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to obtain possession of a Grade C water distribution & Grade I collections certification by the State of North Carolina within two years of employment. Must possess driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina, Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical exam, including alcohol testing. This is a safety sensitive position. Salary commensurate with qualifications & experience.
