Collections Clerk – Administrative Office
The Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District is seeking a responsible, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented person with strong communication skills and initiative to join our fast-paced customer service team. This highly visible position is responsible for the daily office functions of customer service. This position performs payment collections while also providing clerical assistance. Work is performed under the general direction of the Office Manager.
Requirements:
- Any combination of education equivalent to an associate degree in business administration, accounting, or related field
- Minimum three years of related customer service experience with extensive public contact; those with experience in a utility, service billing, or banking function are preferred
- Demonstrates attention to details with complex clerical records
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, supervisors, and co-workers tactfully and courteously
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Driver’s License valid in the State of NC
The Sanitary District provides an excellent benefit package including membership in the NC Local Government Employees’ Retirement System, a 5% 401(k) employer match, annual longevity, paid medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurances, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave and much more.
Full Salary Range: $20.92 - $32.60 Hourly
Expected Starting Salary Range: $20.92 - $23.84 Hourly
Placement within this range will depend upon the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.
